You can pick up animated GIF's from all over the place on the web. My favourite stopping off place is MediaBuilder at http://www.mediabuilder.com/

However, one way to be different is to produce your own.

GIF MovieGear at http://www.gamani.com/ is an excellent piece of software for animating a series of GIF graphics (frames). Just create a series of pictures - like the old flick-book - and GIF MovieGear joins them all together. The animation below was made in just this way.

To create, or manipulate the 'frames' in the first place you need a piece of graphics software and I recommend "Paint Shop Pro" from Digital Workshop.

Info' at http://www.digitalworkshop.co.uk/

The rotating "Curious", "?" and "animated GIF's" headings were created using the Xara-3D Gif Animator. This is a most excellent piece of software created for the sole purpose of animating text - any ascii character - and it does it really well, so 10/10; 5 Star; Gold Medal!. Download a 15 day trial version from Xara.com

It can animate the lighting effect while keeping the text still (main heading above), and you can choose text textures, rate of rotation and pauses as well.

To start you on your way, here are a few rotating GIF's for you to right-click on and save
