My gggg grandfather (I think) was John PEDDIE who died in Celyon in 1840. He was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army and I believe he lost an arm at the battle of Salamanca. He was also involved in action in South Africa where the town of Peddie was named after him. His family were also closely connected with Stirling Castle. My gggg uncle, William Henry PEDDIE (born 1793) was the Fort Major of Stirling Castle.

My ggg grandfather was Robert Peddie, born in 1800 in Kelso, he married Louisa Frances Allan in 1831 in Antigua where we worked as a surgeon. They had four children; Henry, Roscoe, Phoebe, Isabella. He died in Antigua in 1841. He had two brothers John Crofton Peddie and William Henry Peddie whom I believe was the Govenor of Stirling Castle.

My gg grandfather was Robert Allan Peddie, born 10 April 1838 in Edinburgh, he married Maria Clarkson on 26 February 1861 in Louth, Lincolnshire. They had ten children; Crofton, Gordon, Annie, Isabella, Mortimer, Louise, Mary, Edith, Robert and Mabel. Robert worked on the Railway and died in Doncaster on 7 August 1917.

My great grandfather was Crofton Peddie, born 26 May 1863 in Holbeach,Lincolnshire. He married Ethel Whisker 7 February 1892 and died, in Hull, 7 December 1938. They had eight children including my grandfather Robert Allan PEDDIE in 1895.

My grandfather was also Robert Allan Peddie, born 7 November 1895 in Hull, Yorkshire, married Elizabeth Elsie Sharpe 23 June 1920, died 13 April 1966.

My Father was Robert Allan Peddie. He was born 27 October 1921 in Hull, Yorkshire, married Ilene Ivy Sillcock 6 April 1946 and died 11 November 1998.

People of note I know about so far in my family are my father, Robert Allan Peddie and my great uncle, Lord James Mortimer Peddie, both of whom were listed in Whos Who.
